Lurnea Mathematics Programs and Initiatives
Kindergarten to Year 2 teachers are continuing in 2013 to focus on developing Early Arithmetical Strategies through planning for differentiated learning in Numeracy groups in each class. This is being supported by our Early Action for Success leaders for teachers and students Kindergarten to Year 3. Years 3 and 4 teachers are also constructing differentiated activities for developing students' understanding of mental strategies for Number calculations.
Problem solving strategies and the language of Mathematics are areas of continued focus in 2013 for Years 3 to 6 students.
Mathletics Internet Learning
Every student has been issued with an individual username and password to access the Mathletics website which engages and challenges students through a variety of interactive Mathematics activities. Our students are able to complete tasks assigned by their class teacher and play Mathematics based games against other students from countries around the world.
