All students have the right to feel safe, respected and receive a quality education.
We believe that all staff, parents, carers, community members and the students have a responsibility to ensure this happens. Some of the programs and policies that Lurnea Public School uses to ensure this happens include:
PBL - Positive Behaviour for Learning
This promotes positive behaviour management systems and processes as well as fair consequences when required. Some of our main PBL programs include our behaviour awards, student tick charts, playground tokens and values lessons. One of the main focus points of PBLis to explicitly teach the children the behaviours and attitudes we want them to display at school. For more information visit the PBL website.
Anti-Bullying Plan
Lurnea Public School has a zero tolerance approach to bullying. All school community members should report any occurrences of bullying to the class teacher or the office. By all of us working together and making a stand against bullying we can ensure that all children have a positive learning experience at school. Please download the Lurnea Public School Antibullying Plan to learn more about our proactive approaches against bullying. Please also visit the NSW Anti Bullying Website for other excellent advice and ideas.
